MUSIC SERIES PREMIERED ON THIS DATE IN 1959

THE BELL TELEPHONE HOUR was seen on NBC-TV and ran until the spring
of 1968. The concert series was one of the first TV shows to be telecast
exclusively in color using a system perfected by RCA in 1954. It aired
every week on Friday evenings.

TV’S BATMAN DEBUTED ON THIS DATE IN 1966

BATMAN ran until March 14, 1968 on the ABC television network. It was based
on the DC comic book of the same name and starred, from left to right, Adam West as Batman and Burt ward as Robin.

MOTOWN RECORDS BEGAN ON THIS DATE IN 1959

Berry Gordy Jr.(above) borrowed $800 from his family and started
his own record label, called TAMLA. When a third release by the
Miracles was issued, a second label was formed, called Motown.

The first release on the TAMLA label was “COME TO ME” by Marv 
Johnson. The song was later released on the United Artists label.

FIRST EPISODE ON THIS DATE IN 1971

The CBS-TV sitcom aired until April 8, 1979. In September of 1979
the show was reorganized and renamed,
ARCHIE BUNKER’S PLACE
and ran until 1983.
 

ALL IN THE FAMILY MAIN

The main characters of the series (clockwise from top) are: Gloria Bunker-
Stivic(Sally Struthers), Michael Stivic(Rob Reiner), Edith Bunker(Jean Stapleton),
and Archie Bunker(Carroll O’Conner). 

NOTE: Sally Struthers was born in Portland, Oregon.
