In the 1960s, Mitch Miller became a household name with his 1961–1966 NBC television show Sing Along with Mitch, a community-sing program featuring him and a male chorale (an extension of his highly successful series of Columbia record albums of the same name). During the second season of Sing Along with Mitch, Miller himself coined the catchphrase "all smiles." Sing Along with Mitch was canceled in 1964 and repeats
aired briefly on NBC during the spring of 1966.

The Tonight Show is a late-night talk show that has aired on NBC-TV since 1954. It is the longest currently running regularly scheduled entertainment program in the United States, and the third longest-running show on NBC, after Meet the Press and Today. The first host of the show was Steve Allen(above). Allen departed Tonight after NBC ordered him to concentrate all his efforts on his Sunday night variety program,The Steve Allen Show, hoping to combat CBS-TV and The Ed Sullivan Show’s dominance of the Sunday night ratings. THE KING FAMILY SHOW DEBUTED ON THIS DATE IN 1965
The King Family Show was a musical variety which featured The King Sisters and their extended musical family. The series aired on ABC-TV until January 1966. The series was revived for a second time airing from March to September 1969.
After an appearance on The Hollywood Palace in August 1964 drew a reported 53,000 letters, ABC decided to give the Kings their own hour-long weekly series replacing The Outer Limits. The show starred the four King Sisters, Donna, Yvonne, Luise and Alyce. It also featured Alyce’s husband, actor Robert Clarke, and her sons. In all, some thirty-seven members of the King family, ranging in age from seven months to 79 years, were seen on the show.

a former radio personality, was host of the series until 1961. The show
was the idea of, then NBC-TV vice-president Sylvester “Pat” Weaver,
the father of actress Sigourney Weaver. The Today Show is the fourth-
longest running TV series.
