The Supremes had their second Billboard number one hit single with
”Baby Love.” Just four months earlier,the other Motown artists
referred to them as…”the no-hit Supremes”.

THIS WAS GREAT SUNDAY TV!
Omnibus was a commercially sponsored,educational live TV series with
host Alistar Cooke. It aired on Sunday afternoons from November of
1952 until 1961 on CBS, and later switched to Sunday evenings on
ABC. It finally moved to the NBC network in 1957 where it remained
until 1961. ABC aired a brief revival of the series in 1981. The series
won more than 65 awards,including seven Emmy’s and two Peabody
awards.

A GOLD WINNER…FOR THE NINTH TIME!
Roy Orbison was awarded his ninth Gold Record for
“Oh! Pretty Woman” on this date in 1964. It remained
on the charts for 15 weeks.
