‘MR. WIZARD’, with host Don Herbert, premiered March 3,1951
on NBC-TV and featured Herbert and guest kid’s conducting
science experiments. Don won a Peabody award for his work
on the program which aired for 30-minutes every Saturday
morning until it was cancelled in 1965. Herbert was a General
Science and English Major at the University of Wisconson.

I remember watching the newer ones that aired on nickelodeon in the 80’s.
Yeah, I used to watch him on Nick too!
