Folk singer/songwriter and activist  Joan Baez began her career in
1960. Her first three albums, Joan Baez, Joan Baez, Vol. 2, and Joan
Baez in Concert all received gold record status. Many of her songs 
are topical in nature and deal with social issues.  In recent years,
Joan has found success in interpreting the  songs of modern
songwriters.
