Economist and political philosopher, Alexander Hamilton was the  
first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States from 1789 to
1795. He was also one of America’s first constitutional lawyers.

AVIATOR’S SOLO FLIGHT ACROSS THE PACIFIC ON THIS DATE IN 1935

Aviation pioneer and author Amelia Earhart made a flight from
Honolulu, Hawaii to Oakland, California, becoming the first
woman to fly solo across the Pacific Ocean. The plane she
flew on that trip, a Lockheed Vega, is on display at the
National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
