Leonardo  da Vinci ( (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519) was, among many
things, an Italian painter, sculptor, scientist, inventor, and engineer. He
is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and
perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived.

BIG HIT FOR ROBERTA FLACK ON THIS DATE IN 1972

This song  became a breakout hit for Roberta after a slower, version
was used by Clint Eastwood in his 1971 directorial debut Play Misty
for Me
during a love scene. It won the Grammy Award for Song of The
Year in 1973.

A BIRTHDAY FOR ROY CLARK, HE’S 78 TODAY

Roy Linwood Clark is a popular figure in country music as both a  musician  
and singer. He is best known for hosting Hee Haw , a nationally televised country
variety show on CBS, from 1969–1992. During the 1970s, Clark frequently guest-
hosted for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. He is a member of the Grand Ole
Opry and was inducted into the The Country Music Hall of Fame on May 17, 2009.

FRANK AND NANCY ~ #1 SONG ON THIS DATE IN 1967

The song spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and
and nine weeks atop the adult contemporary chart, becoming Frank
Sinatra’s second gold single and Nancy’s third. It was the first and
only instance of a father-daughter number-one song in America.
