The spacecraft, named Faith 7, piloted by astronaut Gordon Cooper completed 22
Earth orbits traveling 593,885 miles in 34 hours, 20 minutes. The mission was to
determine the effects of extended spaceflight on man. The spacecraft and its
pilot were recovered only 36 minutes after splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.

Richard Edward Arnold (May 15, 1918 – May 8, 2008)
Eddy Arnold scored 147 songs on the Billboard country music
charts, second only to George Jones. He sold more than 85
million records and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry
in 1943. Arnold was inducted into the Country Music Hall of
Fame in 1966. He was ranked 22nd on Country Music
Television’s 2003 list of "The 40 Greatest Men of
Country Music."
