Theodor Seuss Geisel (March 2, 1904 – September 24, 1991)
The author of immortal children’s poems was not a real doctor, but he
always dreamed of practicing medicine and added the Dr. to his name
upon receiving an honorary degree.
Geisel’s birthday, March 2, has been adopted as the annual date for
National Read Across America Day, an initiative on reading created
by the National Education Association.
What would our childhood been like without him? I don’t want to think about it!
