Harold Clayton Lloyd, Sr. (April 20, 1893 – March 8, 1971)

Harold Lloyd was a actor and producer, famous for his silent comedy
films. He ranks alongside Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton as one 
of the most popular and influential film comedians of the silent film era.

The Boston Marathon is an annual marathon hosted by several cities in Greater
Boston in eastern Massachusetts. It is always held on Patriots’ Day, the third
Monday of April. The first annual event was held in 1897, inspired by the
success of the first modern-day marathon competition in the 1896 Summer
Olympics. The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon, and
ranks as one of the world’s best-known road racing events. It is one of six
World Marathon Majors. The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has
managed the marathon since its inception.

The widely viewed event attracts about 500,000 spectators each year. The
Centennial Boston Marathon in 1996 established a record as the world’s
largest marathon with 38,708 entrants, 36,748 starters, and 35,868 who 
crossed the finish line. This years marathon was marred by tragedy when
two bombs were exploded near the finish line, killing 3 people and injuring
more than 170.

  Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 – July 1, 2005)

Vandross died at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, New
Jersey at the age of 54. The apparent cause of his death was a
heart attack.

The Beach Boys today

LONDON (AP) — A cache of apparently forgotten material dubbed "the
lost archive" of the Beach Boys, one of America’s greatest and most
commercially successful bands, is being put up for auction.

The collection of thousands of documents included what seems to be
the band’s first royalty check, for $990, dozens of signed contracts,
and handwritten and copied scores to "Good Vibrations", "California
Girls" and many other hits from their heyday in the 1960s.

A group of investors is seeking to sell the entire collection as one unit
with the expectation that it will bring several million dollars.

"We thought it would be a crime to break it up," says Ted Owen, who
heads the Fame Bureau, the London-based firm handling the sealed-
bid auction which ends on May 15.

Laurie London

A 13 year old British teen named Laurie London had the most played
song in the US with an up-tempo version of the Gospel song "He’s Got
The Whole World In His Hands". Although the record was a hit on both
sides of the Atlantic, none of London’s follow-up releases made the
Top 100 in America, nor made much of a splash in the UK.

By 1966, he would leave the music business to run a hotel called The
Angel, in Petworth, West Sussex. London turned 69 in January.
