The Ventures, formed in 1958 in Tacoma, Washington, have sold
over 100 million records. In 2008, they were inducted into the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2009, bassist Bob Bogle died of non-
Hodgkin lymphoma; he was 75. The group is still the most popular
American rock group in Japan where they tour regularly to this day.
