Catherine Anne O’Hara was born in Canada.
Actress, writer, and comedienne Catherine O’Hara became known for her roles
in Beetlejuice (1988) and Home Alone (1990).
She was an understudy for Gilda Radner on Saturday Night Live and was later
given an opportunity for a position on the show, but she turned it down and the
position was given to her friend Robin Duke.
O’Hara also voiced numerous characters in animated films such as Chicken
Little, Monster House, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Catherine O’Hara won the 1982 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing
for a Variety Series for SCTV Network, the Genie Award for Best Supporting
Actress for the 1999 film The Life Before This, and was nominated for an Emmy
Award for the 2010 television film Temple Grandin.
