George Orson Welles (May 6, 1915 – October 10, 1985)

Welles was a director, actor, writer, producer, and magician
who is remembered for his innovative work in film, radio,
and theatre. He is among the greatest and most influential
filmmakers of all time.

Directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire in the title
role, the eagerly awaited comic book adaptation Spider-Man 
was released on Friday, May 3, 2002, and quickly became the
fastest movie ever to earn more than $100 million at the box
office, raking in a staggering $114.8 million by Sunday, May 5.

Oscar-winning actor known for playing intense, often violent
characters in "The Godfather," "Dog Day Afternoon" and
"Serpico" is 85 today.

Pacino has won and been nominated for many awards during
his acting career, including nine Oscar nominations. He won
a Best Actor award for “Scent of a Woman” in 1992.

Adrien Brody has won the Academy Award for Best Actor
twice for his portrayal of Holocaust survivors: Polish pianist
Władysław Szpilman in Roman Polanski‘s war drama The
Pianist (2002) and Hungarian brutalist architect László Tóth
in Brady Corbet‘s period epic The Brutalist (2024).

The former made him the category’s youngest winner, at age
29. He has received several other accolades, including a
Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award with nominations
for three Primetime Emmy Awards.
