Jerry Lewis was a comedian, actor, singer and humanitarian
who was famously nicknamed "The King of Comedy", with a
career lasting over eight decades. He appeared in more than
60 motion pictures, starting in 1949 including sixteen
Martin
and Lewis
musical comedy films with Dean Martin, as his
partner.

My Fair Lady is a musical with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner
and music by
Frederick Loewe. The story, based on the 1938 film adaptation of George Bernard Shaw‘s 1913 play Pygmalion.

The musical’s 1956 Broadway production was a notable critical and popular success, winning six Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

It set a record for the longest run of any musical on Broadway up to
that time and was followed by a hit London production.
Rex Harrison
and
Julie Andrews starred in both productions.

CONSTRUCTION ON HIGHEST TUNNEL IN 1968

On March 15, 1968, construction started on the north tunnel of
the
Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnel on Interstate 70 in
Colorado, some 60 miles west of Denver.

Located at an elevation of more than 11,000 feet, the project was
an engineering marvel and became the world’s highest vehicular
tunnel when it was completed in 1979. Four months after opening,
one million vehicles had passed through the tunnel; today, some
10 million vehicles drive through it each year.

Larry Shaw (1939 – 2017) the founder of Pi Day, at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.



Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant
Ï€ (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14 (the 3rd month) since
3, 1, and 4 are the first three
significant figures of π, and it
was first celebrated in the United States. It was founded in
1988 by
Larry Shaw a physicist at the San Francisco science
museum
, the Exploratorium. Celebrations often involve eating
pie or holding pi recitation competitions. In 2009, the United
States House
of Representatives
supported the designation
of Pi Day.
