Estelle Louise Fletcher

Louise Fletcher won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975). Her other notable films include
Cruel Intentions (1999), Flowers in the Attic (1987), and 2 Days in the Valley
(1996). Prior to fame, she worked as a secretary by day and took acting
lessons by night.

BROADWAY STAR HAS DIED AT 89

Elaine Stritch (February 2, 1925 – July 17, 2014)

Stritch was an actress and singer, best known for her work on Broadway. She
appeared in numerous stage plays and musicals, feature films, and many TV 
programs. She was inducted into the
American Theater Hall of Fame in 1995. 

Stritch died early this morning at her home in Birmingham, Michigan following
a period of poor health.

(1938) and White Heat (1949). Orson Welles
said of Cagney that he was "maybe the greatest actor who
ever appeared in front of a camera."

Linda Maria Ronstadt sang with the Stone Poneys and earned eleven
Grammy Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy
Award
, an ALMA Award, and numerous U.S.and internationally certified
gold, platinum and multiplatinum
albums. She was also nominated for
Tony Award and a Golden Globe award.

In a 2011 interview. Linda Ronstadt said, "I am 100 percent retired and
I’m not doing anything any more". It was announced publicly in August
2013 that Linda had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2012,
which left her unable to sing. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame
in April of this year.

     David McClure Brinkley (July 10, 1920 – June 11, 2003)

David Brinkley was a TV newscaster for 50 years and the partner of
Chet Huntley. He won ten Emmy Awards three George Foster Peabody
Awards, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom during his career. He
served in the United States Army for two years and was a journalist for
a local newspaper.
