Bruce Arthur Johnston (Benjamin Baldwin)

Singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer Bruch Johnston is best known as a member of the Beach Boys. In 1965, Johnston
joined the band for live performances, filling in for the group’s co-founder
Brian Wilson, who had quit touring in order to spend more
time in the studio. Johnston then became a contributing member
on subsequent albums.

FRONTMAN HAS DIED AT 69

Gregory LeNoir "Gregg" Allman (December 8, 1947 – May 27, 2017)

Gregg Allman, the legendary frontman of The Allman Brothers, died Saturday
at his home in Savannah, Georgia due to complications of liver cancer. He had
a history of health problems in the past and underwent a liver transplant in
2010.

SINGLE RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1974

The song "Sweet Home Alabama" by the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd
reached #8 on the charts in 1974 and was the band’s second hit single. The
song was written in reply to "Southern Man" and "Alabama" by Neil Young;
Young is noted by name in the song’s lyrics.
