Han Solo’s ‘Star Wars’ blaster

(FoxNews) – Who needs a light saber when you can have Han Solo’s original
blaster from Star Wars?

The blaster pistol that Harrison Ford used in the Star Wars films "Return of
the Jedi" and "The Empire Strikes Back" is being auctioned off later this month.

The pistol is set to go up for auction on Dec. 21 in California, and it is expected
to fetch up to $300,000.

It’s being sold by Profiles in History, and according to a description of the item,
it is still in relatively good condition.

"The blaster is exactly in its original filming condition and therefore exhibits wear
from use, but retains all of the original details, including the flash suppressor and
scope (the eye-piece of which is detailed with reflective scotch-lite tape). The
added distinction of this particular piece is that it was also likely used by Mark
Hamill as Luke Skywalker, as both characters shared the same style of weapon
in ‘Empire.’"

The non-firing DL-44 blaster will be given to its buyer with a letter of authenticity.

"This is a truly incredible item of motion picture history and quite possibly the
most exciting science fiction weapon to have been offered for public auction,"
according to the auction site.

TIME OF DEATH WATCH TO BE AUCTIONED

DEATH WATCH

NEW YORK (AP) –  A wristwatch that is believed to have been used to declare
the time of President John F. Kennedy’s death is going on the auction block in
New York City.

The 18-carat Patek Philippe timepiece is estimated to bring up to $150,000
at Christie’s on Dec. 17. The stopwatch (above) was made in 1948 and was
purchased for Dr. Kemp Clark by his mother in Switzerland a year later for
$750.

Clark was one of several attending physicians at Parkland Memorial Hospital
in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, when president Kennedy entered the ER. He was
pronounced dead at 1 p.m. by referring to the watch, according to his family,
and signed the death certificate.

"There is endless debate among historians on the actual time of death and
there was most likely also a clock in the ER," said John Reardon, Christie’s
international co-head of watches. "However, the family and historians agree
to these facts: the watch was on his wrist that day and he called the time of
death and signed the death certificate."

A portion of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Red Cross.

TODD CHRISTENSEN

    Todd Jay Christensen (August 3, 1956 – November 13, 2013)

Salt Lake City, Utah (FoxNews) – Todd Christensen, the brawny tight
end whose sure hands helped lead the NFL’s Raiders to two Super
Bowl championships in the 1980s, died of complications following
surgery in a Utah hospital.

Christensen’s son, Toby Christensen, said his father passed away
Wednesday morning at Intermountain Medical Center near his home
in Alpine, Utah.

Christensen was a devout Mormon who didn’t drink, and his family
believes his liver problems started 25 years ago after a "botched"
gall bladder operation, his son told The Associated Press.

The five-time pro-bowler, who amassed 461 receptions and 41
touchdowns in a 12-year career, most of which was spent with the
Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders, had battled liver disease in
recent years, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

The Oregon native became one of the league’s top pass-catching
tight ends after starring as a 6-foot-2-inch fullback at BYU. He was
drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1978, and later traded to the
Raiders.
