Comedian Jackie Gleason sits behind the wheel of his new Buick as
assembly plant manager H.T. Anderson stands along side.

The Buick Motor Company signed Jackie Gleason (above) to one of the largest
contracts ever entered into with an entertainer. Gleason agreed to produce 78
half-hour shows over a two-year period for $6,142,500.

Charles Parker in the 1960s situation comedy, McHale’s Navy on ABC, and for

Mike Nichols, the director of film, TV and stage hits such as
"The Graduate," "Working Girl" and ”Angels in America", died
Wednesday night of cardiac arrest at his home in New York. 

Imogene Coca (November 18, 1908 – June 2, 2001)

Coca was a comic actress best known for her role
opposite Sid Caesar on Your Show of Shows on
NBC from February 25, 1950 – June 5, 1954.
