On October 10, 1973, Spiro Agnew, serving under President Nixon, became the
second Vice President to resign the office. He pled no contest to criminal charges
of tax evasion after resigning. As a result of his no contest plea, the State of
Maryland later disbarred Agnew, calling him "morally obtuse". In 1832, Vice
President John C. Calhoun, while serving under Andrew Jackson, resigned
the office to take a seat in the U.S. Senate.

The television show 77 Sunset Strip is an hour-long private detective series
based on novels and short stories written by Roy Huggins. The show ran from
Friday October 10, 1958 to February 7, 1964 on the ABC network.

of the era situated in different exotic locales. It ran from Wednesday October 7, 1959
to April 2, 1963.

Dick Tracy is a comic strip featuring police detective Dick Tracy.The strip was created
by cartoonist Chester Gould (shown below) and made its debut on Sunday October 4, 1931 in the Detroit Mirror. It was distributed by the Chicago Tribune New York
Syndicate. Gould wrote and drew the strip until 1977.

Actress Angie Dickinson has appeared in more than fifty films, including
Rio Bravo (1959), Ocean’s Eleven (1960), Dressed to Kill (1980), and
Pay It Forward (2000). She also starred as Sergeant Suzanne “ Pepper”
Anderson in the NBC-TV crime series Police Woman, from September
13, 1974 to March 29, 1978. She won a Golden Globe Award for Best
Actress-Drama Series for the show in 1975 and received Emmy Award
nominations in 1975, 1976, and 1977 for the series.
