Oscar winner Alan Arkin, whose background in improvisation
with characters from the 1960s comedy “The Russians Are
Coming, the Russians Are Coming”, “Glengarry Glen Ross”
to “Little Miss Sunshine”, and “Argo,” died at his home in
Carlsbad, California Thursday at age 89. He had a history
of heart problems.

of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., has died.
Her niece, the Rev. Bernice King, tweeted that her “beloved
aunt” died Thursday.

Frederic Forrest, known for roles in "Apocalypse Now,"
“Falling Down” and "The Rose," died on Friday at his
home in Santa Monica, California.
On June 25, 1876, Native American forces led by Crazy Horse and
Sitting Bull defeated the U.S. Army troops of Lt. Col. George
Armstrong Custer in the Battle of the Little Bighorn near
southern Montana’s Little Bighorn River.
