acquitted of the brutal 1994 double murder of his estranged
wife,
Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

In the epic 252-day trial, Simpson’s “dream team” of lawyers
employed creative and controversial methods to convince
jurors that Simpson’s guilt had not been proved “beyond a
reasonable doubt,” thus surmounting what the prosecution
called a “mountain of evidence” implicating him as the
murderer.

In May 2023, Simpson reported that he had been diagnosed with
prostate cancer and expressed confidence that he would beat it. 

He died of the disease at the age of 76.

TV SITCOM STAR HAS PASSED AT AGE 84

John Amos

LOS ANGELES (AP) — John Amos, who starred as the family
patriarch on the hit 1970s sitcom "Good Times" and earned
an Emmy nomination for his role in the seminal 1977 miniseries
"Roots," died of natural causes in Los Angeles on Wednesday,
August 21. The death was not announced until October 1.

He played James Evans Sr. on "Good Times," which featured
one of television’s first Black two-parent families. Produced by
Norman Lear and co-created by actor Mike Evans, who co-
starred on "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons," it ran
from 1974-79 on CBS.

‘AMERICAN PICKERS’ STAR HAS DIED AT 60

(FOX NEWS) – "We are saddened to share that our friend and
beloved member of The HISTORY Channel and
American
Pickers’ family
, Frank Fritz, passed away Monday, September
30, following health battles. 

The History Channel and Cineflex Productions shared  in a
statement with Fox News Digital. "Frank filmed ‘American
Pickers’ for over a decade.

We will always remember ‘the bearded charmer’ and his never-
ending search for vintage
motorcycles and bikes. Our thoughts
are with Frank’s loved
ones during this difficult time. He will be
deeply missed."

His former co-star Mike Wolfe also posted about the "American
Pickers" star’s death on Instagram. He wrote, "It’s with a
broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed
away last night."

Peter Edward Rose Sr. (April 14, 1941 – September 30, 2024), also
known by his nickname "Charlie Hustle", was an American
professional
baseball player and manager. He played in Major
League Baseball
from 1963 to 1986.

Rose died at his home in Las Vegas today. He had attended an
autograph event in Franklin, Tennessee on Sunday.

of a pharmacy in New York City after reports of tampering.

On September 29, 1982, three Chicago area residents became ill
and died after ingesting Extra-Strength Tylenol later found to be
poisoned with cyanide. They were the first of seven victims to
lose their lives after taking the over-the-counter pain reliever,
which had been tampered with. The case would create a national
panic over the safety of nonprescription medications and lead to
new standards for pill packaging.

Seventh grader Mary Ann Kellerman was the first to die after
taking the medicine overnight to combat a sore throat.
