(FOX News) – A Texas archaeologist couple recently unearthed the
ancient tomb of a legendary king in Central America — a feat
that’s been over 40 years in the making.

Arlen Chase and Diane Chase (above) both professors with the
University of Houston, uncovered the fourth-century tomb at
the
Caracol archaeological site
in Belize.

The discovery revealed a jade death mask, pottery vessels and
evidence of extensive trade networks from 350 AD. The find
was shared by the university on July 10.

ANCIENT ROMAN SHOES RECENTLY FOUND

Volunteer holding shoe
The first shoe still contained its heel area after being
buried for around 2,000 years.

(FOX NEWS) – Volunteers were baffled recently when they
unearthed not one but two ancient shoes at a
historic British
site
.

The discoveries were made at Magna, an Ancient Roman fort
in Northumberland, in late May. The Roman Army Museum,
located near the fort in Brampton, made the announcement.

Photographs show volunteers holding the remarkably preserved
leather shoes, which have maintained their form despite being
buried for 2,000 years.

Second shoe covered in mud
The second shoe surprised onlookers with its size, which is roughly equal to a U.S. men’s size 14.

STATUE OF A GREEK GOD WAS UNCOVERED

The statue was well-preserved, archaeologists said.

Archaeologists near Bulgaria’s southeastern border with
Greece uncovered a nearly 7-foot statue of the ancient
Greek god Hermes during a dig this week.

The unexpected find happened during excavation of an
ancient Roman sewer in the abandoned city of Heraclea
Sintica, which was founded by King Philip II of Macedon
between 356 and 339 B.C.E.

The sprawling city was devastated by an earthquake in
388 A.D.

Galileo di Vincenzo Bonaiuti de’ Galilei
(15 February 1564 – 8 January 1642)

With eight planets in our solar system, more than 200 moons
surround those natural satellites.

Jupiter, one of the most recognizable planets, has 80 of those
moons.

On this day in history, Jan. 7, 1610, Galileo discovered the
