Patrick Wayne Swayze
(August 18, 1952 – September 14, 2009)

Swayze became a teen idol in the 1980s with roles in such films as 
Dirty Dancing (1989) and Red Dawn (1984). He played lead roles
in the films Ghost (1990) and Point Break (1991). Swayze trained
in gymnastics for two years at San Jacinto College, then went on
to take up ballet at the Harkness Ballet and Joffrey schools in New
York. His first job in entertainment was as a dancer for Disney on
Parade. Patrick Swayze died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 52.

is a Silly Symphonies cartoon produced by Walt Disney,
directed by Burt Gillett, and released to theatres by United Artists. It was
the first commercially released film to be produced in the full-color three-
strip Technicolor process after several years of two-color Technicolor films.

CARTOON STAR DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1934

Donald Duck rose to fame with his comedic roles in animated cartoons. Donald’s
first appearance was in 1934 in The Wise Little Hen.

Donald is one of the most popular Disney characters and was included in TV
Guide
‘s list of the 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time in 2002. He has
appeared in more films than any other Disney character, and is the most
published comic book character in the world outside of the superhero genre.
