Richard Gere began his acting career in the 1970s, playing a supporting role 
in Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977),  and he had a starring role in Days of 
Heaven
(1978). He became well known for his role in American Gigolo
(1980), which established him as a leading man. Gere then stared in
several hit films including An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Pretty
Woman
(1990), Primal Fear (1996), and the musical film Chicago
(2002), for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor,
as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the Best Cast.

Actress Valerie Harper is known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on the
CBS-TV show The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970-1977), and for her starring
roles on the spin-off sitcoms Rhoda, (CBS 1974-1978) and Valerie, (NBC
1986-1990/CBS 1990-1091). Harper won four Emmy Awards and a Golden
Globe Award for her character in these shows.

Timothy  Hutton has the  distinction of being the youngest actor to win the 
Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, which he won at the age of the
20 for his performance as Conrad Jarrett in Ordinary People (1980). Hutton

produced in Portland, Oregon.
