Félicette, a Parisian stray, became the first—and only—cat
in space. The black-and-white feline traveled 98 miles into
space for 13 minutes before her capsule safely parachuted
to Earth.
The mission, part of the French space program, trained
14 cats to monitor their neurological and physiological
responses to spaceflight.
Grumpy Cat (Tardar Sauce) (April 4, 2012 – May 14, 2019)
Grumpy Cat, was an American internet celebrity cat. She was known for
her permanently "grumpy" facial appearance, which was caused by an
underbite and feline dwarfism. She came to prominence when a photo
of her was posted on September 22, 2012, on social news website called
Reddit by Bryan Bundesen, the brother of her owner Tabatha Bundesen.
Grumpy Cat died at home in the arms of her "mommy" Tabatha following complications from a urinary tract infection on May 14, 2019. Her death
