Herman Ike Boone (October 28, 1935 – December 18, 2019)
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WJLA) – Herman Boone, the legendary T.C. Williams High School football coach portrayed by Denzel Washington in "Remember the
Titans" has died. He had been diagnosed with cancer.
Boone was one of the coaches of the Alexandria school’s 1971 state
championship-winning football team, the integrated group of players
immortalized by the Disney movie.

William Ferdie Brown (December 2, 1940 – October 22, 2019)
He was known for creating one of the NFL’s most iconic moments on
January 9, 1977, when he raced 75 yards to the end zone to score on an interception from the Minnesota Vikings during Super Bowl XI.
Hall of Fame president and CEO David Baker said Tuesday in a release:
“Willie Brown was the epitome of the Raiders’ motto of ‘commitment to
excellence’ that was integral to the team’s sustained success. He
embodied virtues like passion, integrity, perseverance and always
led by example. His character, on and off the field, made all those
around him better. His legacy will be preserved forever in Canton,
Ohio to inspire generations of fans.”
Brown was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player in
1984. At the time of his death he was on the Raiders’ administrative
staff.

Bryan Bartlett Starr (January 9, 1934 – May 26, 2019)
(Fox News) – Legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr died
Sunday.
The Packers announced Starr, a catalyst of Vince Lombardi’s powerhouse
teams of the 1960s, died in Birmingham, Ala.
He had been in failing health since suffering a serious stroke in 2014.
The first AFL-NFL World Championship Game in professional football, known retroactively as Super Bowl I and referred to in some reports, including the
game’s radio broadcast, as the Super Bowl, was played on January 15, 1967
at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, CA. The National
Football League (NFL) champion Green Bay Packers defeated the American Football League (AFL) champion Kansas City Chiefs by the score of 35–10.
