‘’YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT”
On June 13, 1966, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its
decision in Miranda v. Arizona, establishing the principle that
all criminal suspects must be advised of their rights before
interrogation.
Now considered standard police procedure, “You have the
right to remain silent. Anything you say can, and will, be used
against you in court of law. You have the right to an attorney.
If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you,” has
been heard so many times in television and film dramas that
it has become almost cliche.
NEWS THAT MADE HISTORY FROM THE AP
On June 12, 1987, in one of his most famous Cold War
speeches, President Ronald Reagan challenged Soviet
Leader Mikhail Gorbachev to “tear down” the Berlin Wall,
a symbol of the repressive Communist era in a divided
Germany.



WELL – KNOWN CHARACTER ACTOR DIES
Harris Yulin (November 5, 1937 – June 10, 2025)
Harris Yulin, the acclaimed character actor who
starred in films including Scarface and
Ghostbusters II, has died.
Over the course of his career, the California-
born actor played more than 100 roles on stage
and screen, including working extensively on
Broadway.
Yulin’s family and his manager, Sue Leibman,
announced that he died June 10 in New York
City of cardiac arrest. He was 88.

BEACH BOYS FOUNDER HAS DIED AT 82
Brian Douglas Wilson (June 20, 1942 – June 11, 2025)
In 2024, it was revealed that Wilson,The Beach Boys founder
and lead songwriter, was suffering from dementia. His family
declined to state a cause of death.
