A FUNDRAISER FOR DORTHY’S RED SHOES
GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota hometown of Judy Garland, the actress who wore a pair of ruby slippers in "The
Wizard of Oz," is raising money to purchase the prized footwear
after it was stolen from a local museum and then later turned
over to an auction company.
Grand Rapids, Minnesota, where the late actress was born in
1922, is fundraising at its annual Judy Garland festival, which
kicks off Thursday. The north Minnesota town is soliciting
donations to bring the slippers back after an auction company
takes them on an international tour before offering them up to prospective buyers in December.

THIS WAS A ‘SOUND’ PURCHASE IN 2005
Shure model SM33 ribbon microphone.
The microphone was saved from a trash bin by "The Tonight
Show" chief boom operator Stan Sweeney.
An anonymous bidder in 2005 snatched a piece of TV history,
offering $50,787 for the microphone that sat prominently on
the desk of late-night king Johnny Carson until the 1980s.
The offer was about twice that expected at auction.
SINGERS WARDROBE TO BE AUCTIONED
BOSTON (AP) — Fans of Prince, who was known nearly as
much for his extravagant wardrobe as for his chart-topping
hits, will have a chance to bid on some of the late musician’s
sartorial splendor in an online auction this week.
The collection, including more than 200 lots up for sale, was
assembled by a French collector who initially hoped to open
a museum celebrating the musician but later scrapped the
plan, according to RR Auction of Boston, which is overseeing
the sale.
The collector had reached out to individuals who worked closely
with Prince to gather the items, believing that the trendsetting
artist, who died in 2016, was not only a musical virtuoso but also
a fashion icon, according to the auction house.

EVERYTHING BOND WILL SELL AT AUCTION
Some of the collection of James Bond memorabilia that
be on sale at Ewbank’s auction house in Surrey, England.
(FOX News) – A retired California schoolteacher is ready to cash
in his collection of all things James Bond-related.
Steve Oxenrider has a collection of over 30,000 items related to
the Bond phenomenon, with some items dating back to the
early 1960s when the series was first released.
The San Francisco resident has shipped half his items so far
to Ewbank’s Auction House in Woking, Surrey, England,
ahead of the auction.
Due to the large number of collectibles, Ewbank’s will auction
off Oxenrider’s collection in two parts — with the first half
of the miscellany going live in November.
Some of the items included in the auction include original posters
for "Dr. No," valued at over $15,000, and a signed "Thunderball"
gala charity premiere brochure from 1965, which is expected to
sell for over $1,000.
