Esther Jane Williams (August 8, 1921 – June 6, 2013)
(AP) – Esther Williams, the swimming champion turned actress who starred
in glittering and aquatic Technicolor musicals of the 1940s and 1950s, has
died.
Williams’s died early Thursday in her sleep, according to Harlan Ball, her
longtime publicist.
The Ed Sullivan Show originally ran on CBS from Sunday June 20, 1948 to
Sunday June 6, 1971. The variety show was cancelled and replaced by
the CBS Sunday Movie, which ran only one season, eventually being
replaced by other shows.
The Ed Sullivan Show was ranked #15 on TV Guide’s 50 Greatest TV
Shows of All Time in 2002.
Bruce MacLeish Dern is best know for his supporting actor roles in
more than 80 feature films. He is the father of actress Laura Dern.

The acting career of Tony Curtis spanned six decades, but his greatest popularity
was during the 1950s and early 1960s. He acted in more than 100 films in roles
covering a wide range of genres, from light comedy to serious drama. In later
years, Curtis made numerous television appearances.
Curtis was the father of actresses Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Curtis by his first
wife, actress Janet Leigh.
