ALBUM RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1971

The album Sticky Fingers is the ninth British and 11th studio album by the
English rock band The Rolling Stones, released. It is the band’s first album
of the 1970s and its first release on the band’s newly formed label, Rolling
Stones Records
. It is also Mick Taylor‘s first full-length appearance on a
Rolling Stones album, the first Rolling Stones album not to feature any
contributions from guitarist and founder Brian Jones and the first one on
which singer Mick Jagger is credited with playing guitar.

SINGER PRINCE HAS DIED AT 57


Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016)

Seven-time Grammy winner Prince, who was known for megahits like “When
Doves Cry” and “Purple Rain,” has died.

Prince was found dead in his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minn. on
Thursday. 

The singer’s publicist confirmed his death to Fox News. No details of his
death were released. He had been suffering flu-like symptoms for several 
weeks.

JOHNNY TILLOTSON IS 77 TODAY


Tillotson was born in Jacksonville, Florida.

Singer/songwriter Johnny Tillotson enjoyed his greatest success in the early
1960s, when he scored nine top-ten hits on the pop, country and adult
contemporary Billboard charts including "Poetry in Motion." He continues
to write and perform in concert.

HUGH O’BRIAN IS 91 TODAY

. At seventeen, he became the youngest
Marine drill instructor.

 (Hugh Charles Krampe)
was born in
Rochester, New York.

O’Brian is known for his starring roles in the19551961 ABC western television
series
, The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp and the 1972-1973 NBC action
television series Search. Hugh had a small role in John Wayne‘s last film, The Shootist (1976).

On June 25, 2006, O’Brian married for the first time at age 81 to 64-year-old 
Virginia Barber. The ceremony was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with
the Rev.
Robert Schuller officiating.
