A WHITE HOUSE VISIT ON THIS DAY IN 1974

George Harrison, his father Harry, along with Billy Preston, Tom Scott and Ravi
Shankar lunched at the White House on the afternoon of December 13, 1974
at the invitation of President Ford’s son, Jack. Harrison was the first and only
ex-Beatle to visit the White House. After lunch the group had a tour of the 
White House mansion guided part of the way by the President’s daughter,
Susan.

Billboard listed the song as debuting on 14 January 1956 on the Best Sellers
in Stores chart at #25 and on the Top 100 at #56. The Decca single peaked
at no. 6 on the Billboard and CashBox pop singles chart in 1956.

Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra (December 12, 1915 – May 14, 1998)

Sinatra  was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th
century. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more
than 150 million records worldwide. Sinatra went by the nicknames Ol’ Blue Eyes
and The Chairman of the Board. He was known as the leader of The Rat Pack.

SHOW NAME CHANGED ON THIS DAY IN 1927

The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly country-music stage concert in Nashville, Tennessee. It was founded on November 28, 1925, by George D. Hay as a
one-hour program called the "barn dance" on
WSM radio. The name was
changed when the phrase "Grand Ole Opry" was first uttered on the air 
on December 10, 1927.
