"American Pie" singer Don McLean — who is still performing
and touring — was born on this day in history, Oct. 2, 1945,
in New Rochelle, New York.
He is forever associated with his iconic hit "American Pie" —
named one of the Top 5 Songs of the 20th Century in a poll
by the Recording Industry Association of America and the
National Endowment for the Arts.

(FOX NEWS) – Kris Kristofferson "passed away peacefully in his
home" in Maui, Hawaii, on Saturday, Sept. 28. No cause was given.
In addition to roles in the "Blade" trilogy and "Pat Garrett and
Billy the Kid," Kristofferson earned a Golden Globe award for
best actor for his role in "A Star is Born."

old today. Bruce Springsteen is a rock singer, songwriter, and
guitarist.
He has released 21 studio albums during a career spanning six
decades, most of which feature his backing band, the E Street
Band. Springsteen is a pioneer of heartland rock.
Toriano Adaryll “Tito” Jackson, one of the brothers who made
up the beloved pop group the Jackson 5, has died.
On September 15, , Jackson suffered a heart attack while on a
business road trip in Gallup, New Mexico and died a local
hospital.
Tito was the third of nine Jackson children, which include
global superstars Michael and sister Janet, part of a music-
making family whose songs are still beloved today.
