Walter Carl Becker (February 20, 1950 – September 3, 2017)
According to his official website, Walter Becker, guitarist and the co-founder of the
band Steely Dan, died today. The announcement did not reveal Becker’s cause of
death.
Steely Dan was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. The group
disbanded in 1981, but came back in 1993 and has been touring since then.
Sheldon "Shelley" Berman

(AP) –Comedian Shelly Berman, whose groundbreaking routines
in the 1950s and 1960s addressed the annoyances of everyday
life, has died. Publicist Glenn Schwartz says Berman died Friday
morning from Alzheimer’s disease at his home in Bell Canyon,
California.

Richard Claxton Gregory (October 12, 1932 – August 19, 2017)
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Dick Gregory, the comedian and activist and who
broke racial barriers in the 1960s and used his humor to spread messages
of social justice and nutritional health, has died.
Gregory died late Saturday in Washington, D.C. after being hospitalized for
about a week. His son Christian Gregory told The Associated Press he had
suffered a severe bacterial infection.
Glen Travis Campbell (April 22, 1936 – August 8, 2017)
Campbell died of Alzheimer’s disease in Nashville, Tennessee today, six
years after his diagnosis.
