When Decca Records offered 9 year old Brenda Lee a recording
contract, her first record was "Jambayala" backed with "Bigelow
6–200".
The instrumental "Sleep Walk" was recorded at Trinity Music in Manhattan,
New York City, New York. It entered Billboard‘s Top 40 on August 17, 1959
and rose to the number-one position for two weeks in September (the 21st
and the 28th) and remained in the Top 40 until November 9. "Sleep Walk"
also reached number four on the R&B chart. It was the last instrumental to
hit number one in the 1950s and earned Santo & Johnny a gold record.
"Poison Ivy" went to #1 on the R&B chart and #7 on the Billboard
Hot 100 chart. It was their third top-ten hit of that year following
"Charlie Brown" and "Along Came Jones."
Come See About Me became third of five consecutively released songs
by The Supremes to top the Billboard pop singles chart . It was recorded
in Studio A The Hitsville U.S.A. building in Detroit, Michigan.
