RADIO SHOW DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1942

Junior Miss was a situation comedy series heard on CBS from
March 4, 1942 to August 26, 1942. The show starred Shirley
Temple as Judy Graves and Pricilla Lyon played her friend,
Fuffy Adams. It aired on Wednesday evenings at a cost of
$12.000 a week to produce and was sponsored by Procter
& Gamble. 

Barbara Whiting was in the starring role when the Junior Miss
series returned on April 3, 1948 and ran until December 30,
1950, sponsored by Lever Brothers.

NEW NEXT-DOOR NEIGHBORS ON THIS DAY IN 1971

On an All in the Family episode, Archie and Edith Bunker got new next-door
neighbors, Michael and Gloria’s best friend, Lionel Jefferson (played by Mike
Evans) and his parents, mother Louise Jefferson (Isabel Sanford).and his
father,George Jefferson (played by Sherman Hemsley) who did not appear
on-screen until a later episode in 1973.

The Jefferson family later moved to an apartment in Manhattan which resulted
in their own show The Jeffersons on CBS from 1975-1985.

1976.
