Martin Mull, the comic musician and actor who started with 1970s
TV series “Fernwood 2 Night” and went on to appear as Colonel
Mustard in “Clue” and on “Arrested Development” and “Roseanne,”
died Thursday.

Mull passed at his Los Angeles home "after a valiant fight against
a long illness."

Retired actress June Lockhart began her film career in the 1930s
and 1940s in such films as
A Christmas Carol and Meet Me in St.
Louis
. She primarily acted in 1950s and 1960s television, and
with performances on stage and in film. On two television series,
Lassie and Lost in Space, she played mother roles.

She also portrayed Dr. Janet Craig on the CBS television sitcom
Petticoat Junction (1968–70). She is a two-time
Emmy Award
nominee and a
Tony Award winner. With a career spanning
nearly 90 years, she is one of the last surviving actors from
the
Golden Age of Hollywood.

The microphone was saved from a trash bin by "The Tonight
Show" chief boom operator Stan Sweeney.

An anonymous bidder in 2005 snatched a piece of TV history,
offering $50,787 for the microphone that sat prominently on
the desk of late-night king Johnny Carson until the 1980s.

The offer was about twice that expected at auction.

The Colorado-born actor was perhaps best known for the role of

McClane foil the terrorists at the airport in the 1990 action thriller
Die Hard 2.

He died in his sleep at his home in Los Angeles on May 30.
