SUSAN DEY IS 61 YEARS YOUNG TODAY

Actress Susan Dey is known primarily for her roles in film and television
older daughter Laurie Partridge on the ABC sitcom The Partridge Family
(1970-1974). She also played Grace Van Owen, an assistant district
attorney and judge on the NBC dramatic series, L.A. Law.a role she
played from 1986 to 1992.

  Chester Robert "Chet" Huntley (December 10, 1911 – March 20, 1974)

Huntley was a newscaster and co-anchor of NBC’s The Huntley-Brinkley
Report
for 14 years beginning in 1956. He began his radio newscast
career at Seattle‘s KIRO-AM and worked his way down to Oregon and
Portland’s KGW-AM radio from 1936 to 1937 where he was a writer,
newscaster, and announcer.

NUMBER-ONE ON THIS DAY IN 1964

Lorne Green become the second Canadian solo artist (after Paul Anka)
to have a number one hit on the Billboard singles chart when his spoken
word recording about a Western gun fighter named Ringo reached the
top. The star of NBC-TV’s hit show Bonanza recorded seven albums
for RCA.

"Ringo” also peaked at #1 on the "Easy Listening" chart and stayed at
the top for six weeks. The single also went to number twenty-one on
Hot Country Singles chart.

GEMINI 7 LAUNCHED ON THIS DAY IN 1965

Crew members James Lovell and Frank Borman

Gemini 7 was the 4th manned Gemini flight with Air Force Lt. Col. Frank Borman
and Navy Comdr. James A. Lovell on board. They spent nearly 14 days in space
making a total of 206 orbits, and were joined by the Gemini-6A flight which then 
performed the first rendezvous maneuver of manned spacecraft.
