       Sir David Paradine Frost (7 April 1939 – 31 August 2013)

Frost was giving a speech on board the Cunard cruise liner, the MS Queen
Elizabeth
. Saturday when he had a suspected heart attack and died.

During the later part of his career, he became known for his TV interviews
with political figures, among them The Nixon Interviews with former United
States President
Richard Nixon in 1977, which were adapted into a stage
play
and film.

GEORGE MAHARIS IS 85 TODAY

Maharis appeared as Buz Murdock in the popular CBS TV series Route
66 (1960-1964) which co-starred Martin Milner. He received an Emmy
nomination in 1962 for his continuing performance in the series. Maharis
also recorded numerous pop music albums at the height of his fame.

Mary Jean "Lily" Tomlin began performing as a stand-up comedian in 
nightclubs after graduating from college. She won multiple awards
including a 1972 Grammy Award in the Best Comedy Album category
for This Is A Recording and four Emmy Awards.

  Arthur Morton Godfrey (August 31, 1903 – March 16, 1983)

Arthur Godfrey was a radio and television broadcaster and entertainer
who hosted two CBS-TV weekly series and a daily 90-minute television
mid-morning show through most of the decade, but by the early 1960s
he was only hosting an occasional TV special. Godfrey was one of the
early master commercial pitchmen, identified with many sponsors like
Lipton Tea. Before fame, he was a radio operator in the U.S. Navy for
four years.

Peggy Lipton (Margaret Ann Lipton)

Lipton is best remembered for her portrayal of flower child Julie Barnes
in the counterculture  ABC-TV show The Mod Squad (1968-1973). A
former model and singer, her career in film, stage and television has
