Eydie Gorme and Steve Lawrence
Eydie Gormé (August 16, 1928 – August 10, 2013)
Gormé died six days before her 85th birthday, following a brief
illness, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is believed that she died of
cancer. She retired in 2009 and is survived by her long time
partner and husband Steve Lawrence. Steve continues to
perform as a solo act.

The DuMont Television Network was one of the world’s pioneer
commercial television networks, rivaling NBC and CBS for the
distinction of being first overall in the United States. It began
operation on August 15, 1946 and aired it’s final telecast on the
6th of August, 1956. The country would be without a fourth major
network until the Fox network was launched in 1986.
Portland’s KPTV channel 27, now channel 12, was an affiliate of
DuMont from September 1953 to September 1955.
Stan Freberg (Stanley Friberg)
Freberg is an author, recording artist, animation voice actor, comedian,
radio personality, puppeteer and advertising creative director. His career
began in 1944. He is still active in the industry today.
