The vocal group The Manhattan Transfer performed songs and took
part in comedy skits as the stars of their own hour-long variety show,
which ran for four weeks in the summer of 1975 on CBS-TV. Reggae
legend Bob Marley made his first American TV appearance on the
series. The show was filmed at CBS Studio in Hollywood, CA on
June 21, 1975, and was recorded live in front of a studio audience.
Dinah Shore (Frances Rose Shore)

In March of 1939, Dinah Shore debuted on national radio on the Sunday
afternoon CBS radio program, Ben Bernie’s Orchestra. She soon became
a successful singing star with her own variety radio show in 1943.Call to
Music on NBC.
The radio show made the move to television in 1951, where the variety
show (shown “in living color” after 1956) continued until 1963.

The Everly Brothers made their second appearance on the Ed Sullivan
Show and introduced their upcoming single, "Wake Up Little Susie."
Jerry Lee Lewis made his TV debut on The Steve Allen Show, July 28, 1957. He
sang “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin On.”
The Killer, Jerry Lee Lewis, will be 80 years old on September 29.
Ruth Ann Buzzi is especially known for her performances on the NBC
comedy–variety show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In from 1968 to 1973.
