James Riddle Hoffa (February 14, 1913 – disappeared July
30, 1975; declared presumed dead July 30, 1982)
On the morning of July 31, 1975, James Riddle Hoffa, one of
the most influential American labor leaders of the 20th century,
was officially reported missing after he failed to return home
the previous night. Though he is popularly believed to have
been the victim of a Mafia hit, conclusive evidence was never
found and Hoffa’s fate remains a mystery.
By 1951, woody wagons had been around for more than two
decades, but that didn’t stop manufacturers from cranking
out new renditions. Ford’s 1951 Woody Wagon was put
together with individual pieces of planking rather than the
traditional solid pieces. The 1951 Ford and Mercury wagons
broke woody production records and set an all-time high.
They were also the most expensive models in their lines. But
what really cemented 1951 woodies in history was the fact
that it was the last year Ford and Mercury models used real
wood for the bodies.

An eight-year-old Polish chess prodigy Samuel Reshevsky defeating several masters at the same time in France, 1920.
Reshevsky was an eight-time winner of the US Chess Championship, tying him with Bobby Fischer for the all-time record.
He was an accountant by profession and also a chess writer.
