RICHARD ‘DICK’ WINTERS DEAD AT 92

Richard winters

Richard “Dick” Winters, the Easy Company commander whose World War ll exploits were made famous by the book and television miniseries “Band of Brothers,” died last week in central Pennsylvania. He was 92.

According to a statement made by a longtime friend, Winters died following a several-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. (AP)

FAMED ACTOR DIES AT 64

Pete Postlethwaite died Sunday following a long
battle with cancer. He was a veteren of the Royal
Shakespeare Company along with other acting 
companies. Steven Spielberg once called Pete
”the best actor in the world” after working
with him on The Lost World: Jurassic Park 
(1997). Postlethwaite was nominated for an 
Oscar for his role in In The Name of the
Father
(1993).

ACTRESS ANNE FRANCIS, DEAD AT 80

        Anne Francis died Sunday of natural cause at a nursing home in  
        Santa Barbara, California. She was most remembered for her
        role in the science fiction classic Forbidden Planet (1956). Her
        career began at the early age of eleven on Broadway.
