Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz; March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926) was a
Hungarian-born magician and escape artist, stunt performer, and actor/film
producer. He was noted for his sensational escape acts. In his later years,
Harry took his talent to the film arena where he both acted and started his
own film laboratory called The Film Development Corporation. Years later,
Harry would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1926 Houdini
died as a result of a ruptured appendix, after suffering a blow to the abdomen.

Drew Barrymore is a member of the famous Barrymore family of American actors
and the granddaughter of John Barrymore. She first appeared in a TV commercial
for dog food when she was eleven months old. Drew’s film debut was in Altered
States (1980), in which she got a small part. A year later, she landed the role of
Gertie, the younger sister of Elliot, in the 1982 Steven Spielberg film E.T. the
Extra-Terrestrial, which put her on the road to fame. She received a Golden
Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1984 for her part in the film
Irreconcilable Differences.

THE CONFETTI MAN IS 77 YEARS OLD TODAY
Actor/Comedian Rip Taylor was named Las Vegas “Entertainer of
the Year” for three consecutive years in the 1970’s. Taylor was
awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Live Theatre.
