Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell (June 21, 1921 – February 28, 2011)
Russell was the star of the Howard Hughes–directed 1943 film The Outlaw, her
first film role. She received additional fame for her roles in Gentlemen Prefer
Blondes (1953) and Son of Paleface (1952). She was one of Hollywood‘s
leading sex symbols in the 1940s and 1950s. Before fame, Jane Russell
worked as a receptionist after graduating high school.
