Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist who discovered the theory
of general relativity, effecting a revolution in physics. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921. His great intelligence and originality have made the word "Einstein" synonymous with genius. He died in 1955 at the age of 76.

John Ernst Steinbeck, Jr. wrote the Pulitzer-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath
(1939) and East of Eden (1952) and Of mice and Men (1937). He wrote a total
of twenty-seven books, including sixteen novels, six non-fiction books and five
collections of short stories. In 1962, John Steinbeck received the Nobel Prize
for Literature. His later work reflected his wide range of interests, including
marine biology, politics, religion, history, and mythology. Steinbeck was 66
when he died in December of 1968.

RUDYARD KIPLING WAS BORN ON THIS DATE IN 1865
The English short-story writer,poet,and novelist was born in
Bombay, India. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in
1907. Kipling is best known for his collection of fiction
stories, The Jungle Book.
