The Disney brothers from left: Roy and Walt
After Walt Disney produced his short film "Alice’s Wonderland" in Kansas City, he
entered into an agreement with New York Distributor, M.J. Winkler to release a
series of "Alice Comedies" based on the films title character. That agreement on
October 16, 1923 became the official founding date of the Walt Disney Company,
known then as the “Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio”, with brothers Walt and Roy
Disney, as equal partners. Today, Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group is one of
the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood.
The original Walt Disney Studio was located in the rear of
a small office occupied by a reality company in Los Angeles
