In 1959 a young singer from the Bronx, Bobby Darin
won the Record of the Year award for MACK THE
KNIFE at the Grammy Awards. The record is the
14th most popular single in Billboards Hot 100
history. Bobby also won the Best New Artist
of the Year award.

The comic actor best known for his roles in AIRPLANE
and THE NAKED GUN film series was being treated for
Pneumonia at a hospital near his home in Florida.
Ed Harris, actor,writer and director has to his many credits,
THE RIGHT STUFF(1983), THE ROCK(1966, THE ABYSS(1989),
and APOLLO 13(1995). One of Ed’s best performances is in the
1992 movie…GLENGARRY GLENROSS. Ed plays the role of
the loudmouth salesman Dave Moss.

Opry debuted on Nashville’s radio station WSM.
The weekly country music concert has been
presenting the biggest names in the field and
is among the longest-running radio shows in
the history.
