million dollar quartet

Pictured above is Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash
(the Million Dollar Quartet). They recorded together in the Sun Records studio on
December 4, 1956. The session was not released until after is was discovered
following a search through more than 10,000 hours of tape in the old Sun Records catalogue. The result of the discovery  was  the release of the 1987 "Charly/Sun"
2 LP set #CDX 20 The Complete Million Dollar Session. A 2006 50th anniversary
issue of the session was released on the RCA label and contained approximately
twelve minutes of previously unavailable material, thus placing the titles in the
original recorded sequence.
