HOLLY RECORDING DURING CHRISTMAS, 1958
Buddy Holly and his bride, Maria returned to his hometown of Lubbock, Texas to
visit family and friends for Christmas in 1958. While there he decided to improvise
a new song called You’re The One. His friend Waylon Jennings, who was still
working at the local radio as a DJ, provided the handclapping heard on the
recording. The single was released much later with additional backing along
with Buddy’s guitar.
