As a former fashion model, Kim Basinger was the BRECK
SHAMPOO GIRL in the 1970’s. She also appeared on many
magazine covers including PLAYBOY in 1983.
Kim won an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Screen
Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actress for her
role in the 1997 crime movie… L.A. Confidential.
Ernie Kovacs influenced many comedians and their
shows because of his experimental, uninhibited and
often adlibbed style of television comedy. Ernie and
his wife Edie Adams received Emmy nominations for
Best Performances in a Comedy Series in 1957. Much
of Kovacs’ talent wasn’t fully recognized until after his
death in an automobile accident, January 13, 1962 in
Los Angles. He was only 42.

R.W. Sears began selling watches to supplement his income
as a railroad station agent. He was so successful the he was
able to quit his railroad job within less than a year and began
selling mail order watches full time. In 1893 Sears took on a
partner and established the corporate name, Sears, Roebuck
& company.
The first Sears catalog was only thirty-two pages and
grew to over a thousand by 1908.
